You remind me of: Pokkle, Pokkle passed the hunter exam along with others but is the weakest one, having to result on luck and others fo win. He's a bit of a dork and doesnt understand everything but he is a very nice person towards his comrades and fellow hunters being possibly one of the bravest, putting his friends before himself
