They have a quota system. One of my buddies is a grader for them, and he says that he can only give out so many '5' papers, and so on, so even if your test was quite good, just because your last name is lower in the system makes it more likely that you will have a poor grade. Mine starts with a T, so i feel your pain, bro.
They are worth it to take, though. Every one you take there knocks out classes at collegiate level. Frees you up to do more of the classes that you actually care about, the ones related to your major. Plus, avoiding the writing classes early or getting them out of the way makes life so much better.
Keep the language and Math ones. AP Math and AP History gets you out of a ton of things. AP Calc especially. English you'll want to just take some college writing courses. They are actually some of the best things to start your college education. So I would drop AP English in all honesty, unless you have that in mind as a major.
I considered that when I was going into junior year. But, my current high school requires both junior and senior AP to take the AP anguish test, and I took AP English already.
