I already posted about this last year and I was told that, mostly because of spawn griefing, this would be impossible. I'm talking about MoveCraft, the plugin that lets you create airships, submarines, rafts, torpedoes, and all that stuff. So, I've come to make a poll. About the spawngriefing, well, we could use those new 1.8 invisible barriers to block the spawn's airspace so people can't bomb it or leave huege airships parked at spawn.
This plugin would allow us to do more complex raids, to carry resources from one base to another, to attack other airships with torpedoes and fireballs, and to have mobile HQ's. This wouldn't be that laggy as I think you can set the maximum of blocks you can place on an airship. For you to see what this plugin offers, just take a look at this machinima made by BaccaYarro.
