Something that could make the server unique.

I've been watching Bacayarro's (Movecraft creator) videos and he is developing a server based on his series. So I got some ideas from it. Instead of being a regular factions server in which everything is mindless slaughter (thats still fun tho), we could add some stuff that would make it more complex. It would mainly be based in trading. I know some people prefer to grow wealth by farming and trading than by just fighting for it, so here's what I've thought
-We make a bunch of settlements/towns/small cities that u can't warp or /sethome in. The trading system would also be a dynamic economy, but instead of being based just into stock/demand it would be based in stock/demand/location. For example, I buy a doublechest full of fish from a coastal city for, let's say 5k. I then place all that on my merchant airship and fly towards a desert city, whose primary exports are coal and gold ore. I sell my fish (Which the desert city doesn't export because of the LOCATION, and may be more expensive or cheap due to STOCK/DEMAND. So, you make profit selling your fish, and buy coal and gold ore. You haul that back to the coastal city, sell it, and maybe try another merchant route.

Cities would be walled, and factions could have safehouses inside (Most of the city would be Safezone, but there would be some gaps (Buildings) for factions to claim (Only small chunks)) and have a urban base (This would require the faction warps back)
I'll think of more stuff, but remember that I'm just suggesting something. I'm OK if Cal or Zaify say no, but still I want everybody's opinions on this.

That Sounds Great!, 1, because i'm tired of being raided .-.

it makes it more complex as you say an i believe it will be more fun and Challenging because in order for a faction to stay alive or "in worth" the have to Gather their Native/ Domestic resources that only their village/City can produce hence everyone depending on each other,(i'm getting a Game of thrones vibe here) And their Would be a trade Center of sorts that is A SAFEZONE and neutral, but the only problem is that there has to be a Working trading system if there is a plugin of sorts.

This is what i see the ranks As
Owner - Trader/ Organizer (Pays Workers)
Officers - Resource Recording and preparing. keeping track of money
Members - Resource Gathers
Recruits - Not sure of what they can do.. Spread the word? Keep track on other City-States?

But never-the-less for this to work our, players have to be committed to their factions and their jobs, To keep the economy going. That may be a challenge.

Just my thoughts on this Ivan Perez I really love this idea, i don't know if we can pull it off or if it would be an entire new gamemode and world.

If this happens i look forward to it.

It sounds like a great idea in theory, but there's a few problems:
  • Cities would require NPCs, and if we add anymore, then the server may start lagging (this is also the reason of the lack of new quests - like Calaxer said, donate for more RAM! XD)
  • The economy plugin we have is perfect for this idea since you can have different economies with different prices. Problem is that shop doesn't work for some people (need to fix that).
  • Most people would not care, making it worthwhile only for a select few people.

The first two problems are ours, but if you can sort the third one out then we are ready to go.

There is one thing we can do. I'm not sure if this topic is for this section f the forum, But I've noticed that we only have one Voting/Advertising Website. When i had my server i had at least Five Websites Advertising it, and there would be people popping in ever other 10 minutes or so. I can give a list of websites that are available Well-known and free of charge to Advertise.

Maybe you are probably thinking that for each Website there would be a reward for each vote hence disrupting the economy. But you can set it as that after a 'x' amount of votes you get "y" amount of rewards.

Everyone gains,
More advertisement = More Players = More donations = Server Upgrade = Better Performance and Mini-games.

Cities would not be so complex, one merchant NPC per city would be enough, and one or two for quests, Plus there are useless NPCs or ones that people farm diamond armor on....

True. Some of the "Guard" Npc's can be removed no harm done
