Good Day Everyone, sorry for not going through legal channels in discord to contact such a matter, however I'm left with no option in fear that one of your moderators by the name of "Taakot" can delete the support ticket before it reach a higher up for review, I'm left with no option but send this message directly here. To start off; I have been unjustly banned under "Rule 14 - Staff Impersonation; Threatening to mute" in my own defense a player by the name of "Jarjarif10" have been spamming me in Towny chat and my only option was to say "keep it up and i'll mute you" regardless of what your moderator think I did not pose as a staff member nor have interest to be a staff member I was simply referring to do a block/ ignore function of the player. However regardless of the situation "Taakot" job was unprofessional, and is a hothead decision without considering evidence nor contact first hand with me for justification. I will provide the following screen shots of Towny chat and the moment I got banned send to me by an in-game friend. I sincerely hope to find justice and the appropriate punishment for the staff member, as I fear it has been done to several players other than me.
Stay awesome --- Takeshio.
The context I went with at that moment is that you puposely threatened someone with an act that staff have the exclusive right to consider and ability to perform. To me, your argument presented here sounds fairly reasonable, and it seems there may have been a misinterpretation; specifically due to the way each of us understand "muting" in that context. This is my informal means of disregarding that incident. However, I will need to emphasize that your post contains ban-appeal features not appropriate for this section of the forums, and you are more than free to make one so we can formally resolve this in the proper place.
Apart from the incident itself, I want to elaborate on one particular point you have brought up. First and foremost, keep in mind that tickets are not currently used for reporting staff members, therefore you have acted correctly by posting here, because a ticket containing a staff abuse report would be considered invalid and subsequently be closed. With that out of the way, consider the following: a staff member cannot simply delete tickets at will in an attempt at hiding their mistakes, wrongdoings, and flaws. If something of this nature were to take place, you would freely and rightly report it, and it would then be investigated by the highest of staff. But keep in mind that the highest staff keep logs of everything, and this fact alone irrationalizes your fear - it is impossible (and arguably, extremely illogical) for any staff member to "conceal ticket information" in their own dread of being punished, a move that, in the end, results in them being punished anyway due to the existence of logs. Ironic.
And in my opinion, there is no reason to suppress reports regarding staff abuse.
Thank you for the elaboration of the existence of logs, however as a returning member of Ccnet community I have my own personal demons of how things are handled; Would I get banned in the future for typing a word that a staff member jumped into conclusion that it is a violation; without even considering the context? What guarantee do I have that a staff member would judge using logic rather than emotion? What if I donate and get banned, thus I would have no right to ask for a refund? To be fair you were both judge and executioner. Using a method of reading chat and present it as evidence to ban me while I’m offline is just flawed and unprofessional. I get the idea that the server is in a hibernation state, and honestly that is not away to attract new or returning players. Yet again thank you for your time to reply --- Takeshio
"Would I get banned in the future for typing a word that a staff member jumped into conclusion that it is a violation; without even considering the context?" - Wording can sometimes have multiple valid meanings that do not negate one another, and I explained that I understood it a different way when considering context like you sounding annoyed in chat, and took it more seriously, and it appears it was a misinterpretation. Again, though, this discussion about the specifics of your current ban should be happening in a ban appeal, not in a staff abuse report.
"What guarantee do I have that a staff member would judge using logic rather than emotion?" - High staff and our procedures of administering punishment give you that guarantee. Staff are not here to judge based on emotion.
"What if I donate and get banned, thus I would have no right to ask for a refund?" - First off, you have absolutely no right to ask for a refund, per Enjin's Terms of Service. Refer to Rule 16, which also serves as a reminder of that. Secondly, we do not treat donators any different from non-Donators in terms of punishment for offenses.
"Using a method of reading chat and present it as evidence to ban me while I’m offline..." - Most chat infractions would not warrant a ban. However, this is clearly not a chat infraction - the chat is merely used as one of the various media with which the rule can be broken. The incident is therefore subject to different rules than what you are currently taking into consideration.
With all the above, I will refrain from posting any further in this thread (unless otherwise necessary) as I have laid out most of my important points. I urge you to make a ban appeal for additional discussions on the topic of the ban itself.
