Jack Killingston should not close ban appeals until all other staff members have said their opinions. That's like censorship: he closes ban appeals before other staff members can review it.
Also jack killingston said in chat he wasnt sure that using tridents on wooden buttons was illegal and then after 15 minutes started banning. Wtf. That dude act like an helper, an admin should perfectly know all the rules. And btw, here's rule numer 5: No glitching or exploiting
We do not allow glitching or exploits of any kind. This includes teleport glitching, bypassing combat tag to teleport, infinite money glitches, etc. If something seems like you shouldn’t be doing it, contact a staff member to make sure. We define what is a glitch/exploit, not you.

So using tridents on a wooden button which is a minecraft feature is an exploit? What a meme

Based on the information you've provided and reviewing the ban appeals, I believe that you were banned for using a projectile (trident) to activate a wooden button in claimed territory where you had no access to the switch permission.

Under this assumption, you were correctly banned. Without the switch permission, you should not be able to trigger the opening of any doors, trapdoors, chests, or other objects that are governed by the switch permission.

To note, you can not use wooden buttons or wooden pressure plates in any land where you do not have the switch permission.

This was clearly noticed by you when you failed to be able to trigger the button without a projectile. By launching a projectile at the button, you have circumvented the Towny game mechanics which are in place to prevent you from accessing the location you then accessed. This is defined as exploitation, and is an example of willful exploitation.

This is not intended. You may note that in regular Minecraft gameplay, you may activate a button by rightclicking on it. Towny does not allow this vanilla game mechanic in areas where you do not have the switch permission. As such, it's a clear indication that just because a game mechanic is "vanilla" does not mean that it is automatically an intended game feature, nor does it mean that you are entitled to said game feature.

One thing that I will agree on is that this is an oversight by both the Towny plugin and ourselves, though this is the first situation in which we have had to deal with this particular oversight by the Towny developers and exploit.

Another thing that I will agree on is that your ban should not have been two weeks. Jack_Killingston properly banned you following our punishment guidelines which require a minimum ban time of 2 weeks for any exploitation ban. These guidelines will be reviewed and reworked to allow lesser sentences on minor and unintended or unexpected exploitation of game mechanics.
