Isn't there a switch on the side that allows you to enable Dev? Otherwise, you could flash the device and set it back up on the cloud with Dev enabled.
tried both, for the dev switch it brings up a page that says "the administrator of this device has disabled dev mode, please flip the switch back to reboot into verification mode" and for restoring the device and going into dev mode, i tried that one also. actually that is the part of chrome os that i am trying to edit. it is set to where you are not allowed to enter dev mode until the device is enrolled through some sort of google account. now you might be thinking "than why don't you use a different google account?" well the thing is that somehow they have a peice of hardware in the device that marks it under my schools administration and you cannot log into the chromebook unless through one of the schools google accounts. ill let you know that i have though about and tried all of it before hand. however feel free to keep suggesting ideas incase it is something i haven't tried, im just gonna say that the odds are i problebly have already tried it (sadly )
If its school property then you shouldn't modify it. That could get you in to serious trouble and yes, chromebooks that are created for specific school networks cannot be modified without administrator privileges.
Ehh, I would refrain from modifying the OS. Does the school administer the laptops through Google alone? Or is their an external program limiting the access to Dev mode?

thanks for trying to help, these articles are closer to what im looking for. but those are old and the dev mode was blocked using a different method. well actually in the reddit one it did mention the forced re-enrollment which is what has me blocked. however i have tried doing a restore. i have a 8gb usb drive that still has the image burned on it.
