"To this day, Nixon's 1972 campaign poster hangs in my office. It reminds me of a simpler time in America, when my parents seemed very tall and you'd get a gold star just for using the toilet." -- Stephen Colbert
Why doesn't EC focus on main instead of new servers? New servers are great and all, but main only seems get to a height of 30 players at a time - that usually signifies a competition taking place. RPG and FTB servers would be fun, but they aren't needed right now. Considering the EC rank webpage still has information that was out of date when I was mod - definitely more than 10 months ago - I think it's important EC looks at where it is spending money and makes a few executive decisions so they can instead pump more money into server maintenances like plugins etc. Just food for thought.
And no, this isn't 'hate' or 'bad-mouthing' (As some admins happily think it is), but some advice that could be beneficial if you actually think about it.
I have a feeling I'm the only person not blown away by the MH17 disaster. People die. You can't change that. Why not focus on handling this politically rather than emotionally?
People come and go - it's an expectation. Be happy they lived their life, there may not be an afterlife. On the topic of religion, religious people should be happy - after all, they are expect to move onto a better life.

As many Australians would know by now – unless you’re living under a rock or some dystopian reality (No, not this one) – Ian Thorpe recently came out as gay. While I personally disagree with the circumstances of which he announced his homosexuality – namely the fact that the interview’s content was conveniently leaked before airing and he was also given a hefty couple hundred grand for the interview – the fact that Australia’s golden boy has come out is a watershed moment for sane and same-sex couples.
This of course has sparked up the debate about whether gay marriage should be legalized – and while I would like to make a joke about old white men commenting on social issues as if they’re the best pundits for it (Namely on issues like abortion and sexual harassment) – I cant help but feel happy because of it. While yes, marriage is traditionally defined as a union between a man and a woman, people seem to forget that it is natural for tradition to change, after all, if tradition didn’t change, people would go around pouring acid on a person’s genitalia (Or naughty parts) because of their gender, putting atheists in mental asylums for rejecting religion, or placing people under caste systems… Oh.
That aside, civilized cultures have progressed a long way since the dark ages – at least in most cases – but a consistent leash which chains us to the times of old is a little known thing called religion – most particularly fundamentalists. In Uganda for instance, it is illegal to be gay, and members of the LGBTI [Lesbian, Gay, Transsexual and Intersex] community can be executed for their orientation. Again, there are a couple different factors to this, but it all started with a small group of evangelicals [those who preach the word of the Bible] comparing gays to Nazis (Keep in mind that Hitler and his Nazis were Christian fundamentalists to the extreme), monsters, paedophiles (…ironic?) and rapists.
Of course, there have also been stories of Christians cannibalizing Muslims (Because nothing says I love you more than a tasty barbecue), so I suppose as disheartening as this is, is it wrong to expect overly much at this point in time?
Whether it be saying that homosexuality is an abomination and that homosexuals should be killed (Leviticus), or making it clear that killing them is bad, but they’re still evil (Romans), society at times forgets one thing: what two consenting adults do in a bedroom is none of our business. If it were such a big deal what a couple did in their bedroom, I’d love to have a look at the majority of people’s Internet searches and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some form of gay porn on it (Yes, being gay includes being a lesbian).
I have a feeling that the reason why people are so ‘frightened’ are by homosexuality is because they believe that the person in question might be interested in them, in which case don’t flatter yourself, and if they do ask you out, just say no. In a world like today where people can be fired for simply saying they’re gay, appreciate the fact they trusted you enough to tell you.
Whether you support gay marriage or not, there should be no place for people who view gays as ‘evil’ or ‘animals’. Just because someone prefers x body part over y body part doesn’t make them an abomination – it doesn’t make them any different than you. Here’s an easy way to sum it up: whenever you go onto a porn website and go into categories, you’ll see kind of off-putting subjects like ‘big beautiful women’ or ‘BDSM’, and because they turn you off, you don’t click on their tabs.
If you don’t like the idea of two men or two women having sex with each other, then don’t click on their tabs. Just stay away from that category, don’t get carried away when people post videos for it, just leave it alone if you don’t like it.
Ha, if I were to come back, I'd certainly hope it wouldn't be like the old days. Too many putdowns from too many people - although I do like to think I've grown up from that.
Rofl, trust me it's funny and entertaining I love reading your debates. It would be SO FUNNY though if you replied to comments on Youtube xD, there's comments in there that are just ASKING for a debate.
