Honestly, I think the posts about Protection are getting a bit annoying, but I think that should be a sign toward staff. I do like the idea of giving lower ranked players access to the kit where the higher ranks don't, but that just seems too unfair. Maybe nerf people with Iron+ helms but don't eliminate the kit completely. Protection doesn't make me angry, unless there are hypocrites saying that they hate prot noobs but five minutes later, they are using Protection. I had a thought about PP. Since there is no real reason for it after you get all of the kits, maybe make a thing where you could buy perks for a single game, etc. you could buy stuff like speed boosts, or small little perks like that that last 1 game or you get an item that you can use with any kit throughout the game, but the effect only lasts a few seconds or so. there could also be something like a debut for the other team, like the other team would have nausea for 5 or 10 seconds. I was thinking of what could be done now with the replay mod being allowed, and I thought that there could be some kind of account that is online all of the time, and it is recording every game. At the end of the game, there would be a link to download the replay to view yourself, and at the end of every game, the last one is deleted, and replaced by the new one. It would be great because even though you would need the client side mod, it would be a lot easier way of getting the video of a specific game. Don't know how feasible it is, but it...
You know what would make a fun map? A neighborhood. My an my neighbor friends used to have tons of airsoft wars in out neighborhood, because its just such a good playing field. IDK how it would work for an MCBall map, but if you could make it work, it would be a cool idea. I was actually thinking of building this later.....
Hmmm... This is what happened when I locked myself in my room for about 20 minutes. Please give me advice ASAP so I don't keep pointlessly building (ugly?) floating islands. It looks great! maybe add some variation like a few cobblestone blocks, ores, and stuff like that, maybe some flowers and grass. Maybe a tree, and some vines hanging from the bottom. That would look awesome!
Both are great ideas... I might do an underwater map. (That's not actually under the water) An "underwater" map. Like Atlantis.. Also tried.. Failed again... I would love to do a water themed map, but water for some reason water lags the server pretty bad, so idk if that is feasible :anxious:
I'm not sure if you have the resources, but you could set up your own bukkit server and put VoxelSniper and WorldEdit on it, that is how I learned it! I knew absolutely nothing about Voxel Sniper, but after a few days of building with it on a private server, I learned how to use it. Now I never use it in my maps anyway, but if it's a skill you do want to learn, just play around with it until you get the hang of it! Practice Makes Perfect!
