Have to admit I kind of agree with this guy. I've seen people banned for mining stuff they saw when a chunk took too long to show - yet staff fly around in gamemode building whatever they want.
I never agreed with staff flying and spawning items, and during the time I was moderator for over a year I refrained from doing so. When I voiced my opinion on that, I was told we as staff get to do these things as a reward. What amount of work as a moderator could somehow justify affecting the gameplay like that? How can anything justify tainting the gameplay which so many threads about balancing the aspects of it are created and discussed on.
I don't agree that regular players should have to build their shops with scaffolding while staff fly in creative mode. Everyone should be on the same level playing field.
Has anyone else been watching the Bungie.net homepage since July 2011 waiting for them to announce their next game? I gave up in 2012 when I realized they really were serious about going dark and keeping their lips sealed.

I have a small server that has been running since early 2011 - with only 65 votes it is ranked 650 on Minestatus which proves the age. It has gone under 1-2 names until finally settling as VanillaTwilight. This server is what I was hoping Minetown Wildlands would have been - no /home, no /spawn, all items are obtained through legit mining and crafting - even the spawn itself was made by hand. Too bad, would have loved to face actual challenge with fellow MT players.
For just under two years I have operated and financed this server by myself to continuously provide a niche server that is hard to come by these days -ALL players, both STAFF and basic members experience the exact same vanilla inspired game-play created by Notch. No staff spawn a single item, or fly outside of petition work. I think it is bullshit that basic players who are the lifeblood of any Minecraft community must legitimately obtain materials and use scaffolding to build, while admins fly around and build whatever they want. VanillaTwilight has never been like that. We are proud to play along with the players and not get any special perks just for keeping the place running. If you aren't going to play Minecraft the way everyone else is, go play single-player.
During the two years I have landed a great job which has taken away a lot of my free time. At the same time it has provided me the money to get my own place with my girlfriend this year. (At 27, it is time!). I would like to be relieved of managing my server day-to-day. A third year of having to tackle updating plugins is probably going to turn my hair gray. I would like to just sit back and actually play on my own server just a few hours a week.
I'm reaching out to my 41 Enjin friends (so many!) to see if you or anyone you know is capable and interested in continuing my servers operation. I will continue to finance the dedicated server and two Enjin websites, all you have to do is manage the server and uphold the same Vanilla-ish gameplay we have enjoyed for ~20 months. Remember, this is challenging gameplay so babies should not apply, but instead visit one of the 100 Minetown clones that copy everything from colors to donation perks to the T. (Why do they even exist if to just clone another awesome server?)
Send me a PM if you are familiar with Linux and Craftbukkit and find this interesting. I'm asking not for myself, but on behalf of the players who enjoy the spirit of Minecraft where beds, boats, and minecarts actually matter because they are your only means of respawning and traveling fast. I want them to keep enjoying what is hard to find these days, while I take a back seat and enjoy other things.

I'm not one of those tweens that get excited and spam everyones' news feed by counting down the days until 1 year veteran, or a profile view milestone. Views are hyperinflated for staff, so it is even less "important", if it ever was to begin with.

Another Enjin website with the exact staff colors down to the familiar Mod+ Aqua/Red... Same font for donating credits... And a minetown staff member giving them donations. -_-
