I just think its annoying when you build a nice huge town and someone else builds their own town almost right next to yours.

I disagree because most towns expand, and once they go in a certain direction then they would see each other. Sure, they could just not expand in that direction, but how hard is it to find a place away from a town? You have /warp biomes, from there you can explore. You could even go to towns and travel FAR and build. There are so many other options!
