Aw, I miss you too!
I stepped down a little bit ago. Too much stuff going on in real life. My daughter started gymnastics, swimming, and we're going to the library during the week too. My dancing has begun to pick up a bit too. Teaching over the next two Saturdays, and performing for one of them. So lots of practice time is going into my days!
With the new updates that have come out, I can't help but notice the massive amount of people that complain when our developers try to bring something new into the game. A lot of people I've noticed were complaining about the fact that you have to buy Floo Powder, but those same people are complaining about the server not being realistic enough. In the wizard inch world, you have to pay for Floo Powder. Brooms aren't cheap their either, yet there is so much negative feedback on the prices of items.
I understand that people aren't good at parkour. I'm terrible at it. That's not how I make my money. I look for cakes. And sell the cakes or the XP bottles, whichever gives me a better profit. I know of over 40 cake places around the server, and I've been told there are over 80. So to all the people who complain that they can't do parkour, or they can't kill mobs, or they can't do this or can't do that, I promise you, that you can walk around the server, (which it doesn't cost anything but time to walk) and find quite a few cake places. Are you gonna find all of them the first time? No. Not even the 5th or 10th or 20th time. But they are there. And they can be found. And all it costs you is the time to walk and look.
Oh, but then you get complaints from people that say well I can't spend much time on the server so I don't have time to look. You reap what you sow. The more time you invest into something, the more you will reap the benefits. So why do some people have this feeling that they should get the same rewards as those who spend more time on the server? That just because they can't spend as much time, that they should be given more things to make up for it.
So many people complain that they can't find a certain location. I tend to give directions to a location verbally as opposed to just showing them. It allows you to better remember the route. That way you're not asking everyday where a location is. But it never fails, no matter how precise the directions are, they want to be shown. They don't even want to try to follow the directions.
I could go on, but I'll stop it here for now.
But please remember that our developers and staff team are trying our best to make this game an enjoyable experience for everyone. We aren't going to please everyone, but if the vast majority are enjoying the game play, then we are doing something right.
So before you start complaining about new things that are coming out, think before you say anything. Think about whether it's a selfish complaint or not.
