Alright over the summer I plan on building a gaming pc, compact like this http://austinnotduncan.com/builds/meson/ would be nice, but I do still want to upgrade it in the future and that would be harder with a small case like that. I'm not doing anything super intense, so the most I'd be willing to spend is around $750-800 (That's probably where my parents would max out as well ) So, any advice?

You can get a much better pc at that price, just look around more and get more familiar with computer parts. Never get a small case like that, unless you like to experiment and are already familiar with things
