Staff in GTM function in accordance to their rank and experience on the server, respectively. Simply stated, an owner does not perform the same obligations and commitments of a help-op or any inferior ranking staff. In this hierarchical pyramid, staff are able to manage all the needs of the server, both client-side and server-based.

Help-ops and moderators are community oriented individuals that primarily focus on player development and enrichment of the community, through answering questions and regulating chat for any infringements of the rules. Although this is our primary function, we are also granted the ability to punish players for using game-play enhancing clients or other external non-permitted additions to the game. This however as stated before is not predominant aspect of our duties.

Administrators and above are tasked with more advanced responsibilities. I am unaware of the boundaries I am restricted to for detailing the commitment of senior staff, but hackers fall into a place of higher importance for them.

Upon investigation of individual's performance on the staff team, your statement of staff's inadequacy is inevitably biased. Recognizing yourself as a player, understand that your needs are as equal to the hundreds of players in the community. We indeed are busy, caring for the demands of players, in the most efficient way possible. Commonly, your player report may already be under investigation of a staff member who was notified earlier by another member of the community.

In addition, players lack the permissions to see what the staff is actively doing. Your "statement" that staff are not dealing with hackers also another instance of intrinsic player ignorance. Due to the possibility of a violation in staff secrecy, I can only guarantee to you that many hackers are dealt with, and we have set up necessary precautions to remove these players from the game as efficiently and indiscriminately as possible. Whatever service we provide to the server already is enough to keep the community a fair-grounded PvP environment.

Subtle hacks like tracers, minimap, and others prove to be a more challenging topic for staff to handle, but we follow protocol to hopefully take care of these individuals.

To conclude, Such system that is used today has been actively used for the last couple of years. The server as a whole has been tried and tested, and staff are the the people who have kept the community running. GTM as a whole to the most part has been kept a clean community, and removed players who break the server rules as they arise. Such implementation of a "pvp oriented staff rank" is unnecessary, as staff already possess the tools needed to ensure the safety of the community. In most instances, staff are ridiculed for their insufficiency to make sure that GTM remain a safe place, but in actuality, we do so much more that the community fails to recognise we do. Instead of thinking about how many players we dedicate our time to investigate and ban, the center of focus is on the minority, the near insignificant amount of instances that we fail to deal with. Even when this happens, I can guarantee you that the player that slips past our grasp will eventually be put in his or her proper place.

It personally hurts my heart to see such a negative backlash from the community, after all the staff team as a whole strive to accomplish. I hope that this response serves to be an appropriate answer to this question, and also be of value to inform the community.

I whole heartedly agree. Staff on GTM are under-appreciated. Players new to the server may not get to see the full perspective of a staff member - as far as they see, an admin is just a fancy tag, and if they are not doing exactly what the players want, it has to be wrong. Alas, that is a fallacy. Staff take their own time out of their day to play minecraft - they are the equivalent of public servants. Any negative backlash at this point shall be declared treason and warrant the minecraft ban hammer.
