I don't think kits are the factor keeping us from reaching new players. It seems only a third of our new players tend to join at peak times (midnight to 4AM UTC). The problem comes from that large duration of quite time. New players join and find there is nothing to do, so they leave immediately. The next player joins and does the same. We've been trying to run some ads around the Minecraft community, but it does not seem to be effective enough without some sort of event to get everyone online.
The pro server is meant for players who are skilled enough to be considered pro. Those "annoying" messages are not so bad when a new player is getting ruined by pros. Once you play long enough, they messages go away. Again with PPs and kits, we separated servers so beginners would play on beginner server We didn't want to force that on you so that you can still play with all, but any impactful result of skill difference is the effect of you ignoring our official advice. Hello S_Kunai, jittering is not hacking or cheating. I used to be able to jitter mad before I got this new mouse, but I haven't yet found the best way to do it with my new mouse.
Reading the headlines from Hurricane Harvey was terrible. Seeing those who stayed through it and made the most out of it by accomodating needs and entertaining each other put a smile on my face.
