Back up of my post regarding lumc in case it gets taken down.
As you all know, I was recently accepted as staff on LUMC. As anyone in the factions community knows, I was the link between the higher level staff and the community. I am sorry to say that I have resigned from my staff position. This was not because I am bored with the server, nor because I don't have the time or will to moderate the server. It is simply because the management on the server is horrible at this time. Pv has been unavailable for a while now and from my understanding won't be back any time soon. Half doesn't communicate very well with the community as they aren't very fond of him and he isn't exactly fond of them either. Wrath is only one person and main focus is factions and there is little to no organization among the staff team. There is even less communication between the players and staff. I have sent a rant to pv privately and I dont see him responding anytime soon, so I will post it here in hopes of change.
Message I sent to pv over skype: As of Monday I will be too busy with real life matters to help on lumc. This combined with me not seeing the server going anywhere as of now has lead me to decide to resign. So instead of just disappearing I thought I would let you know in advance. Enjoyed helping wrath with factions even if it lasted all of 2 hours. Anyways before I go, here is my opinion of the current status of the server and what needs to happen if you want it to succeed.
Factions- LUMC factions is pretty much a lost cause at this point as Half, Wrath and I have learned. I honestly believe you should just scrap lumc factions entirely and close it for at least 2 months and actually work on it during this time. While I have to give wrath some credit for getting the server up at all, it was horribly rushed. There were many bugs, and key features were missing that were specifically asked for prior to opening. I didn't want to say anything as I knew that if the server didn't open soon that it would be a lost cause anyways. Wrath knows what he is doing, but he isn't nearly active enough and he has only just started speaking to the community and pretty much any ideas for factions had to go through me for them to be noticed. Also, disable mob stacker. Players dislike it and it really isn't needed as the server lags regardless. I understand that the hosting situation is far from ideal as wrath has told me and suggest that you eventually switch hosts or have Coelho do something about it.
Survival- Survival has been crashing every day at the 1am restart for about a week now. Me and other staff have brought it up multiple times in the staff chat and the one response we did get said it was just simply because it took longer to restart than the other servers. If survival is supposed to take 12+ hours to restart (Usually its down from 1am to 5/6pm) then nevermind. Many players have asked for jobs to make a return which I don't see why they haven't as the plugin is already on the server, but that is entirely up to you. Emperors on survival have been getting really bored with the server as there is pretty much nothing for them to do, but what I suggest is making it so that they can only use their creative and /enchant in a separate "emperor" world that would have separate inventories as well. Make it so that anything enchanted via /enchant is marked so that emperors don't abuse it as I can guarantee that many emperors use the perk for other players and pvp. Make it so that when anyone goes to the arena they are taken out of /v, /god, /fly and /d as well as disabling these commands in the area to prevent instances of abuse which are becoming all too common. Finally, scrap the potion protect project as it is not very practical. It makes claiming difficult and complicated as well as prevents normal players from being able to really enjoy survival as they can rarely claim their builds. I strongly suggest switching back to the GreifPrevention plugin as it is far more practical for players as it allows for custom sized claims.
Skyblock- Skyblock is the most well done of the servers but it definitely has some issues. Mostly it just needs more challenges. Which shouldn't be a problem as Avei is currently working on new ones. Not much to say on this. Still could use fine tuning and active management.
Network- Ok, regarding the network as a whole, you and the other higher level staff need to communicate with the community. Half and Avei are really the only ones I see ever reply to posts and while I am sure you and Wrath seem them, players don't see it that way. For the past 3 years, there has been little communication between players and staff and I honestly believe that is the biggest downfall of the server. I am sure you are all busy between work/education but it cant take more than 20 minutes to quickly browse new posts and post an update. I suggest you start a weekly server update where you post all changes and future plans on the home page. This would attract many old players as well as new since they would see that you are active in the community. I suggest you talk to Avei and AsianCheddar as they know the Survival and Skyblock communities far better than I do. Finally, you need to come up with some way to get new players, whether it be advertising or some other way. The great majority of the old community has either lost all hope in this server, or have moved on from minecraft. You will need new players and new ideas if you want the server to succeed.
Based on past experiences, I doubt you will read all of that so I suggest you at least skim through it. Wish you the best of luck with the server and hope you do manage to bring it back. I will probably see you on LUMC or BC occasionally as I will still play some times. In final notes, whatever you plan to do with the server, you may wanna do ASAP as most of the community is losing faith (once again). If wrath is still looking for ideas for factions I suggest you have him actually talk to the community as a whole and start using the forums rather than a skype chat that most people don't read anyways.

After that, I began talking to wrath regarding the rest of the server and came up with this idea, I sent it in a skype discussion so i will once again post it here.

There would be 1 manager per server, and they would have to power to make any changes needed to the server without having to wait for Pv or Wrath's approval. They would also be required to be active within the community and have to have been on the server for a while. They would pretty much handle all the community aspects of the server.

[2:26:56 pm] Aaron King: That way, Pv can be as quiet as he wants, without players getting upset as they would still be kept updated as to what is going on.

I will go more in depth on this subject if it isnt already clear as to what I am saying needs to happen.
In conclusion to this post, I would just like to say that if things don't change (and soon) LUMC will not be going anywhere. As I have stated, the current situation with management is poor and will be the death of the server. I am not the only member/former member of the staff team that feels this way and can see other staff leaving as well. If they really want the server to succeed they need to either, 1) Step up themselves and become active to the community or, 2) Appoint Managers FROM WITHIN THE COMMUNITY (for example, Avei for Survival and Ched for skyblock. Unsure about factions) to manage the servers by keeping players updated as well as providing new and innovative updates to the server. Once this happens, then the server will have a shot at making a return.
