To get rid of a foundation you need a build tool (Which you can craft by doing /c). After you get the tool you right click it a couple of times until the bottom of your screen says "Foundation Mode." Right click the place where you placed the foundation then it will disappear and get placed in your inventory.
What happens if you are just about to log out, then someone stumbles across you and tries to kill you but then you log out without noticing? Would you be banned or would it be left alone? No, you would not be banned. Anti-Cheat would detect that you were combat logged, and when you log back onto the server your inventory would be wiped and the other player would have all of your armor, guns, etc.
