When I first joined the MCC forums back in 2014 and got active again in 2015, this is the format I had for my forum posts for a long time. So as the MCCentral forums have officially moved to Xenforo (https://www.mccentral.org/community) I thought I'd write my last post on this forums in the format that I started with on this forums. On to the new forums!
I don't think it has any point viewing your punishment list besides to see how often you got punished. It's just more work/more channels and not important for players to look at. If they really want to see what punishments they received they can always just ask a staff member to check for them. But, so far I haven't seen anyone asking for it. Well adding a new channel and setting Dyno to post moderation actions to that channel is as easy a few clicks. You and I both know using Dyno is very easy. Also couldn't the same argument be made for show...
Why do the punishments need to be public? Well the MCC server punishment system is already public. And I think showing punishments publicly is a good thing because it helps with transparency and making situations such as appealing a lot easier. But if we got into a debate about that and the Minecraft server, that would be a bit separate of the topic for this thread. So really it's about congruence.
So I have been thinking about this for a bit today. And this idea makes sense for a bit more congruence with the network. Currently, anyone can view any punishment that has ever been made publicly on the MCC server via the punishment search system. However, Discord punishments are a different thing. And that's what I want to discuss here. I was the original owner of the Discord. Ex-Administrator Lukasz_ and I managed the MCC | Community Discord. One thing we did early on was keep all punishments on the Discord private. I can't recall exactly w...
Did you enjoy your stay as a staff member? If not then why, and if so then why as well ? Thanks, 0l2 Being a staff member had its ups and downs. But overall, I enjoyed it. I have no regrets resigning or my overall time. I learned a lot as a staff member and it's safe to say some of that knowledge has transferred to things I'm currently doing in my own life. I'm content with the legacy I built and it's something I am proud of. I have my own opinions on this, as I played MCC the day it came out, until around December 2015, and was staff for a ...
Who were the best people you met in the staff team? The people who are still friends to this day. Not only did I connect with them as staff members, but I connected with them as friends. And that's important. What the best advice you could give to someone going for staff Don't try and let the politics of the staff team stop you from striving as a staff member. They will only stop you from going forward. Also I know this sounds cliche, but just be yourself. You're better off doing than not. Follow those two and everything else will ...
What promotion was the most fun for you? Must pick one ;) Honestly, I can't pick one. I've been promoting people since I was senior. That's about 18 or so months of promoting. The "fun" ones were a lot of them because these are staff I have seen grown since they joined the staff. The ones who really put in the work for the staff team and the community. So yeah, that's how I see it.
Did you guys ever truuuuly consider the build team part of the staff team? Good to see you're still hanging around here Ant :) Yes. They had a similar system to the staff team. Both teams provide a service for the community. I don't see it any other way. I know a fair amount of people who are/were staff who disagree with me on that. But I knew the build team and I have good friends who were on the build team. So I had a pretty good idea of the inner workings of the team. And it's nice to see you commenting and hanging around here as we...
